Military's Information War Is Vast and Often Secretive

The media center in Fayetteville, N.C., would be the envy of any global communications company. In state of the art studios, producers prepare the daily mix of music and news for the group's radio stations or spots for friendly television outlets. Writers putting out newspapers and magazines in Baghdad and Kabul converse via teleconferences. Mobile trailers with high-tech gear are parked outside, ready for the next crisis.

The center is not part of a news organization, but a military operation, and those writers and producers are soldiers. The 1,200-strong psychological operations unit based at Fort Bragg turns out what its officers call "truthful messages" to support the United States government's objectives, though its commander acknowledges that those stories are one-sided and their American sponsorship is hidden.

"We call our stuff information and the enemy's propaganda," said Col. Jack N. Summe, then the commander of the Fourth Psychological Operations Group, during a tour in June. Even in the Pentagon, "some public affairs professionals see us unfavorably," and inaccurately, he said, as "lying, dirty tricksters."...
U.S. military covertly pays to run stories in Iraqi press
Troops write articles presented as news reports.
Some officers object to the practice

...The operation is designed to mask any connection with the U.S. military. The Pentagon has a contract with a small Washington-based firm called Lincoln Group, which helps translate and place the stories. The Lincoln Group's Iraqi staff, or its subcontractors, sometimes pose as freelance reporters or advertising executives when they deliver the stories to Baghdad media outlets...

This is exactly the same type of operation as Rendon Group.

Meet John Rendon, Bush's general in the propaganda war

The Pentagon's Information Warrior: Rendon to the Rescue
"I am not a National Security strategist or a military tactician," says John W. Rendon, Jr., whose DC-based PR firm was recently hired by the Pentagon to win over the hearts and minds of Arabs and Muslims worldwide.
"I am a politician," Rendon said in a 1998 speech to the National Security
Conference (NSC), "and a person who uses communication to meet public policy or corporate policy objectives. In fact, I am an information warrior, and a perception manager....

The more you know about these asswipes, the scarier all of this becomes.
How many other "groups" are there? I'll bet there is a lot more of this sort going on that we don't know about.

There is no telling what the truth is anymore after you learn enough about Rendon.
Rendon Group formed the Iraqi National Congress in 1991.
Chalabi worked directly for Rendon.
Judy was definitely a Rendon stooge.
It's now apparent Woodward must be one too.
I'm guessing that Fauxnews or perhaps everything Murdoch is really just a Rendon front too.

That's why chimpyco is screaming "rewriting history" over and over. They already paid to have history remembered sans reality.
