Cheney Shooting Story Has Major Holes In It

Here's the money quote from Katharine Armstrong, owner of the ranch where the shooting occurred:

AP: Armstrong said she saw Cheney's security detail running toward the scene. "The first thing that crossed my mind was he had a heart problem," she told The Associated Press....(more)
Hat tip to Phil, a commenter on Moxiegrrrl's site, for pointing this out. Phil wrote...

Now wait. I thought she witnessed the incident first hand. Matter of fact, she's the primary witness in the Sherriff's report. Didn't she claim to be close enough to see where exactly Whittington was, close enough to know he didn't announce himself, had a good enough view to see him get hit . . . and yet after witnessing Whittington get hit, she first thought that Cheney had a heart problem? Didn't even cross her mind that they were running to help the man that just got shot?

Sure sounds to me like she didn't really witness what she claims to have witnessed
I concur. From the same article...

She said Whittington made a mistake by not announcing that he had walked up to rejoin the hunting line, and Cheney didn't see him as he tried to down a bird.
Also, the NYT is saying that an hour or so after the shooting, Rove had a chat with Mrs Armstrong. It sure seems like she messed up the storyline Rove coached her to say, and has stuck her foot right in her mouth.

Will anyone in the media or law enforcement follow up on this?

[UPDATE] Cheney victim suffers heart attack

I wonder if they are still cracking jokes at the Whitehouse about how Vice President Dick Cheney shot a man in the face? Oh boy that's really funny.
